The Garden Route’s waterways each offer something different.

 Knysna is home to the iconic Knysna Heads and the sheltered Knysna Lagoon — ideal for scenic boat cruises, kayaking through the Thesen Island canals, and relaxed lagoon fishing. Sedgefield sits on the Swartvlei estuary, one of the largest and most diverse fishing systems on the Garden Route, prized by both conventional anglers and fly fishers chasing Grunter, Garrick and Cob. Wilderness offers a quieter, wilder experience on the tannin-stained Touw River, where fly fishers can sight-fish for the elusive Grunter beneath towering indigenous forest.
